Sana Yousaf TikToker murder trial in Islamabad after summer break

Sana Yousaf Murder Trial to Start After Summer Break

Islamabad, August 25, 2025 — The formal trial in the murder case of Chitrali social media influencer Sana Yousaf has not started even after three months of her killing.

Sources told ChitralToday that the charge sheet in the high-profile case has recently been reviewed and submitted to the District and Sessions Court Islamabad. They said the trial will begin once the summer break of courts ends.

The prosecution has named 31 witnesses in the case. These include Sana’s family members, doctors, police officials, and other key persons. The prosecution and police officers took more than a month to examine the report. Sources said they wanted to make the case strong to ensure punishment for the killer. The police charge sheet declares Umar Hayat the murderer.

Sana Yousaf, a 17-year-old social media influencer from Chitral, was shot dead at her home in sector G-13, Islamabad, on June 2, 2025. Police said TikToker Umar Hayat entered her house and opened fire, killing her on the spot. Police arrested the suspect within 20 hours from Faisalabad. They also recovered the murder weapon and the victim’s mobile phone from his possession.

The trial has been delayed due to the summer holidays of the judiciary. It is expected to begin once the courts reopen.
