CHITRAL: The Chitral Polo Association has strongly condemned the reported alteration of the jury-selected team for the upcoming Shandur Polo Tournament.
The association expressed serious concern over allegations made by members of the official jury committee, who claimed in a recent social media video that 60 to 70 percent of the players they had recommended were replaced with preferred individuals.
“This action is not only unjust but also a clear insult to the hard work and impartial judgment of the jury committee,” said Shahzada Sirajul Mulk, President of the Chitral Polo Association.
He association demanded that the final team be announced strictly in accordance with the list provided by the jury committee.
“No institution has the right to override the decisions of a duly appointed selection committee and form a team based on favoritism,” the statement added.
The association reaffirmed its commitment to fairness and merit, stating that only the genuinely selected players will represent Chitral at Shandur.
“Insha’Allah, the team selected purely on merit will enter the field and deliver an outstanding performance,” it added.
