CHITRAL: On the call of Traders Union, a shutdown strike was observed in Chitral town and other areas to express solidarity with the Palestinians on Saturday.
Markets in Chitral, including Shahi Bazaar, New Bazaar, Ataliq Bazaar, Bypass Road, Krup Risht Bazaar, Chew Pul Bazaar and Jughore Bazaar, remained completely closed.
Shops in Ayun Bazaar were also closed. In Upper Chitral, markets in Booni remained closed as well.
Additionally, all private schools and colleges in Chitral did not open to show solidarity with the Palestinians while government schools remained open as usual.
Meanwhile, on call of religious parties and traders unions, strike is also being observed in major cities across the country.
