Construction of Sonoghur bridge, road demanded
BOONI: The poor condition and delayed repair of the Sonoghur to Parwak pedestrian bridge has caused serious concern among local residents.
The and other public issues were raised during an open court held in Sonoghur by local residents, said the office of the DC Upper Chitral.
The open court was held at Government Girls Middle School Sonoghur under the chairmanship of Assistant Commissioner Mastuj Ihsan Afridi. The subdivisional police officer Mastuj, heads of various departments, public representatives and a large number of local residents were present.
The public presented the following key issues: immediate repair of the Sonoghur to Parwak pedestrian bridge, replacement of electricity poles damaged by recent heavy rains, appointment of doctor and technicians at BHU Sonoghur, restoration of irrigation canals damaged by the 2007 floods, provision of waste bins in the area and the repair of the Sonoghur to Meragram No 1 road.
The assistant commissioner took note of all the issues and directed the concerned departments to resolve them within a given timeframe. He assured the public that each department will submit a progress report.
