10 killed in traffic accident near Karak

KARAK: At least 10 people lost their lives and eight others were injured in a road traffic accident on the Indus Highway near Lachi Ghundaki in Karak district of Khyber Pakthunkhwa on Tuesday morning.

According to rescue officials, a trailer collided with a passenger van, reportedly running over it, resulting in multiple fatalities on the spot. Several passengers were trapped inside the van following the crash.

Local residents and rescue teams rushed to the scene and launched relief operations. The deceased and injured were shifted to the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital Karak. Hospital sources confirmed that the injured are being provided medical treatment, with some said to be in critical condition.

Police have launched an investigation into the incident. Initial reports suggest that speeding by the trailer driver may have caused the accident.
