US cancels visas of over 450 Muslim students
WASHINGTON: The visas of over 450 students from different Muslim countries, including Pakistanis, have been unexpectedly and abruptly canceled by the US government.
According to media reports, the students whose visas have been revoked include Pakistanis and students from other Muslim countries studying at American universities.
The media reports stated that the visa cancellations were carried out without prior notice or legal proceedings.
There could be several reasons for the cancellations, but officials affiliated with colleges and universities say the government is taking this action quietly.
The Trump administration is particularly targeting students who have participated in protests in support of Palestinians; however, some individuals have had their visas revoked despite not participating in any protests.
Among the universities whose students have had their visas canceled are Harvard, Stanford, UCLA, the University of Michigan, and several other educational institutions.
