All set for Kaghlasht festival after Eidul Fitr
CHITRAL: Arrangements have been made for holding Kaghlasht festival in Upper Chitral in a befitting manner to attract tourists.
This was stated at a meeting of the Kaghlasht Festival Committee held in Booni with Shahzada Sikandarul Mulk, the president of Chitral Polo Association, in the chair.
It was decided that the event, to be held after Eidul Fitr, should be used to revive the folk sports and performing arts, which drifted towards oblivion with the advent of modern age powered by information technology.
The meeting also decided to make arrangements of drinking water and solid waste management in the plateau of Kaghlasht, which is situated at the confluence of the valleys of Mulkhow and Biyar stretching over 11 kilometres.
Martyr laid to rest
Meanwhile, Aftab Khan, the martyred sepoy of the Special Operations Group of Frontier Corps, was laid to rest in his ancestral graveyard in Bumburate Valley here on Sunday.
He was martyred in Mohmand district during a skirmish with the militants the other day. A smart contingent of Chitral Scouts saluted his body, while floral wreath was placed on his grave by military officers.–Dawn
