PESHAWAR: The Mingora Bench of the Peshawar High Court has ordered the recruitment of candidates who passed the test for clinical technician positions in the Upper Chitral Health Department in 2021.
Asifur Rehman, Ehtesham and others had filed a case in the court, arguing that the Upper Chitral Health Department had advertised clinical technician positions in 2021, and candidates had successfully passed the ETEA test. However, the District Health Officer (DHO) unlawfully canceled both the advertisement and the test, depriving the candidates of their legal right.
The petitioners’ lawyer Muhibullah Tarichvi informed the court that if a new advertisement was issued, many existing candidates would become ineligible due to exceeding the age limit. Therefore, he urged the court to order recruitment based on the 2021 test results.
After hearing arguments from both sides, the court ruled in favor of the petitioners and directed the DHO Upper Chitral to recruit candidates based on the 2021 advertisement and test.
It is noteworthy that only 36 candidates had been pursuing this case since 2021.
