PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Department of Elementary and Secondary Education has announced an extension in the winter vacations for all educational institutions in the plain areas of the province.
According to a notification, schools will now reopen on January 6 instead of the previously scheduled January 1.
The decision was made in the light of the harsh weather conditions and the ongoing cold wave, a spokesperson for the department confirmed. The extended holidays will apply to all students and teaching staff in both public and private institutions.
