Musical night at polo ground shameful: JUI

CHITRAL: Holding of a musical night at polo ground on the night between Nov 21 and 22, 2024, by the district administration was shameful and against the cultural values of Chitral, said local JUI-F leaders.
It may be mentioned that the district administration arranged the polo tournament and its final was played at Chitral polo ground in floodlights for the first time in the history of Chitral.
Addressing a press conference here, JUI-F leader and former Chitral tehsil nazim Muhammad Ilyas and others said by arranging the musical night on Friday night the district administration under the nose of elected representatives had tried to push Chitral’s civilized culture towards obscenity.
He said instead of resolving burning public issues the district administration was wasting its resources in such shameful activities. He said such an activity was tantamount to inviting the wrath of Allah and the Chitrali nation should collectively and individually offer repentence and seek forgiveness from the Almighty.
The JUI leaders said that the MNA and MPA had no time to meet participants of recently-held protests but did not loss time to join the musical night at the polo ground.
He said that his party would devise a future course of action if the district administration did not stop such activities in the future.
The JUI and other Ulema should worry about Telling Lies, Hypocrisy, Adulteration of medicines and foodstuff, Cheating, Bribery, Dishonesty, to name a few being the real shameful traits in the society, rather than worry so much about a Polo match played in flood light.
