Mastuj road opened at Shader Reshun

BOONI: The Chitral-Mastuj road blocked at Shader in Reshun due to river erosion was on Monday evening reopened after construction of an alternative passageway, said the district administration of Upper Chitral.

The construction of the alternative road was started on Aug 4 as communication between Upper and Lower Chitral remained suspended after erosion of the road along with houses and lands of the residents of Shader about a week ago.

Officials from the district administration today visited the site and reviewed the progress of work. In a statement later, the district administration said that on the direction of the deputy commissioner Haseebur Rehman Khan, AC Younus Khan remained at the site till completion of the work and restoration of traffic between Upper and Lower Chitral.

Kosht road

The road to Kosht is also partially blocked near the Kosht bridge as river is eroding it. The road is likely to completely blocked by the river erosion. the DC Upper Chitral asked transporters between Kosht and Booni and other areas to avoid this road and use the Muzhgol road for safety purposes.
