ISLAMABAD: The PML-N government on Friday night reduced the petrol price by Rs4.74 per litre.
In a statement released on PTV, the government announced that the petrol price had been decreased by over Rs4 per litre for the next fortnight till June 30 while a Rs3.86 per litre reduction has been made in the rate of high speed diesel.
It may be noted that two weeks ago, the government had made a reduction of over 15 rupees in petrol prices. Earlier, major media outlets claimed that on the direction of the prime minister petrol price had been slashed by Rs15.39.
The PTV quoted Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif as saying that the people-friendly policies of the government were bearing fruit in the shape of a marked decrease in prices of essential commodities.
