Federal secretary arrested from courtroom
RAWALPINDI: Federal Secretary Telecommunications Muhammad Omar Malik was on Saturday arrested from a courtroom and sent to the Adiala jail.
The secretary telecommunications appeared in the court of Civil Judge Adil Sarwar Siyal in a case in the district court building. During hearing of the case, the federal secretary passed insulting remarks and misbehaved with the judge.
Taking notice of the unbecoming of attitude, the judge ordered police to arrest the senior officer. The court also fined the secretary Rs2,000 and sent him to jail for 15 days. Later, the secretary was shifted to the Adiala jail.
Later, the secretary was released after he tendered an unconditional apology. The judge ordered him to remain cautious during court appearance in future.
