Sentence in Toshakhana case suspended
ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court on Monday suspended the sentence of Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi in the Toshakhana corruption case.
A two-member bench of the high court headed by the chief justice ordered the release of the former prime minister and his wife.
The couple was handed down 14 years’ imprisonment on January 31 this year by an accountability court in Islamabad. The high court suspended the sentence and ordered the release of the couple.
The court said appeal against the verdict in the Toshakhana case would be taken up after Eidul Fitr.
Meanwhile, the high court also ordered the release of former minister Fawad Chaudhry in a case registered against him by NAB in Jhelum.
