NEW YORK: Resolution of conflicts in different parts of the world is imperative to make the earth a peaceful abode for mankind.
This was stated by Pakistan\’s permanent representative to the UN Munir Akram at an annual function held at the UN headquarters in New York to celebrate Nowruz.
Ambassador Akram highlighted the essence of Nowruz as a symbol of nature\’s renewal and the resilience of human spirit. He emphasized the importance of Nowruz as a moment for forgiveness, fresh beginnings and acceptance. He said that Nowruz is not just celebration, it is also a moment of deep reflection.
Other speakers, mostly ambassadors of different countries, highlighted the significance of the day and also called for promotion of peace in the world.
