Before elections
As we know, the Election Commission of Pakistan has announced the election date. This opportunity, to cast votes for the right candidates who can be instrumental in solving the issues faced by people nowadays, should not be taken for granted.
Before casting our votes and blindly following politicians who only know how to lead us into a fool’s paradise by giving us counterfeit hopes for the future, we ought to scrutinize them thoroughly. This way, we can bring the right people to the front line to lift us out of the quagmire in which we have been sinking for the past many years.
We can decide the future of this country for five years through our votes. So, the onus is on us to take this responsibility of casting votes for the right candidates, who are genuinely poised to work for the welfare of the people, seriously. Otherwise, we will remain in hot water again. Casting aspersions on them will not come in handy for us.
It’s my request to everyone reading this to be cautious before casting their votes, as Bacon says, ‘opportunity knocks at your door once.’ Thorough research must be done about the past performance of the candidates before giving them another responsibility for five years.
