School boy dies in bridge collapse, two students rescued
YARKHUN LASHT: A student of class 10th died after falling into the Yarkhun river when a dilapidated pedestrian bridge collapsed near here on Saturday evening.
Local people identified the boy as Nadeem Ahmed, son of Zar Muhammad, resident of Rukot village.
He was a student of 10th class at the Govt High School Yarkhun Lasht. The incident occurred when Nadeem along with other students was going home across the river from the school. Two other students accompanying Nadeem also fell into the river, but they were saved by local people.
Due to poor condition of roads and bridges in the remote areas, such incidents have become frequent. Two years ago, a jeep fell into the river near Unauch village, killing eight people.
So sad to hear this tragic death of a young soul. May Allah give strength to his parents and other family members to bear the huge loss of loved one.
