Chitral-Dir road blocked after heavy snowfall

CHITRAL: The Chitral-Dir road was blocked after a six-wheel vehicle overturned near the primary school in Baradam on the approach road to the Lowari tunnel amid heavy snow on Monday evening.

Releasing the pictures of the blocked road, the office of the deputy commissioner Lower Chitral said the road had been closed for for traffic keeping safety of the travellers in mind. As the area received heavy snowfall, the road had become very dangerous for driving, it added. 

As rain/snowfall continued for hours, the district administration had issued safety alerts for travellers on the Chitral-Dir road a day earlier while police and other officials helped commuters who were stuck on the road.
