Training of staff for digital census starts

PESHAWAR: Training of staff has been started to conduct the 7th census that is going to be digital this time around across the country.

In this regard, Chief Secretary KP Dr Shahzad Bangash inaugurated the training program. Addressing the participants, he stressed the importance of census and said it a key role in understanding the future role of population in country’s development.
He said it was for the first time that census was being conducted digitally and training of staff was also imperative to carry out the task. 

It may be noted that the first pilot project to conduct the digital census was supposed to start in June 2022, which started in August, and then to February 2023.

Sources said the census that was scheduled for the end of August was delayed to the last week of December. The results were previously scheduled to be submitted to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) by December last year.
