Compulsory retirement penalty imposed on DEO

PESHAWAR: A former district education officer (DEO) of Upper Chitral has been penalized with compulsory retirement by the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, according to a document available with ChitralToday. 

The major penalty was handed down upon Zulfiqarul Mulk, former DEO of Upper Chitral and currently working as the DEO in Mardan after charges framed against him were proved by an inquiry committee. 

According to a notification of the KP education department dated Dec 1, 2022, Mulk was proceeded against under the KG Govt Servants (Efficiency and Discipline ) Rules 2011 for charges mentioned in teh charge sheet and statement of allegations.

On the basis a two-member inquiry committee, the chief minister has imposed the major penalty of compulsory retirement on Mr Mulk, it added without elaborating teh charges.

Anjuman-e-Tahaffuz Haqooq Upper Chitral had last year expressed concern over the delay in the release of an inquiry report about alleged irregularities in the appointment of teachers when Mulk was the DEO.
