CHITRAL: Mr Shahzad Ahmad Shah alias Shaji from Chitral has been selected as a player in Pakistan polo team that will take part in the 12th World Cup Polo Zone E Playoffs in London this year.
Shaji, a naib subedar from Sonoghur village of Upper Chitral, has been playing for the Chitral Scouts and is included in the A team of Chitral that will confront Gilgit in the annual Shandur polo festival to be held from July 1 to 3.
He is the first player from Chitral to have been included in the national team to play in the world cup.
The selection of the players was made by Pakistan Polo Association at a meeting held in Rawalpindi on June 25.
