Yarkhun road reopened after removal of snow: DC

Another spell of snowfall from 18th

ISLAMABAD: Light to moderate snowfall is expected in Chitral and other northern areas such as Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Hunza and Gilgit, from Tuesday night to Thursday, said the Pakistan Meteorological Department.

There is a chance that landslides may occur in vulnerable areas of Dir, Malakand, Swat, Kohistan, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir on Tuesday or Wednesday, it added.

In the first week of January, Chitral saw heavy snowfall in all its sub-valleys, affecting mobility and blocking a number of roads. Villages in upper parts of Chitral are still blanketed with snow.
