CHITRAL: The reconstruction of the girls’ degree college road in Denin has started years after it remained in a dilapidated condition creating hardship for students and other commuters.
The reconstruction work is being carried out by the National Highway Authority (NHA) as the portion of the road catering to the college is part of the main Chitral-Peshawar road.
Students and local residents took a sigh of relief after work on the road began.
Talking to ChitralToday, Sonia Bibi, a student of the college who lives in a hostel on the same road, said travelling on the road in rain had become impossible as rainwater remain accumulated on the potholes and ditches developed on it.
Local residents Ziauddin and Syed Jamaluddin Shah said the reconstruction of the road was badly needed.—GH Farooqui
