Girl’s dead body recovered from river
CHITRAL: The dead body of a girl was recovered from the river Chitral at Dryano Lasht in front of Booni on Thursday, Rescue 1122 said.
The deceased was aged about 18 to 20 years, it added. The body was shifted to the THQ hospital Booni for identification to trace the heirs.
It may be recalled that a girl had gone missing from the house of her husband in Harchin village of Laspur on Sept 20. There have been no other reports about any such cases.
The brother of the missing girl had approached the police but no case was registered. In the meanwhile, the two families in a so-called Jirga agreed not to pursue any legal proceeding about the disappearance of the girl.
Local people told ChitralToday that the dead body recovered today was that of the missing girl. She might have committed suicide by jumping into the river due to domestic issues, they added.
How long we will count dead bodies of young women in Chitral. These are premeditated murders even if one takes his or her own life there must be some reasons and the reasopns in Chitral lead to torture and cruelty of families towards women.
Police role in these has been not only poor but suspicious as well. They are not professional and nonserious due to which precious lives are losta nd there is no case or investigation and culprits go unpunished leading to more and more such incvidents.
