Taliban ask AKDN to continue work in Afghanistan
Aga Khan Development Network ((AKDN)’s special representative Akber Ali Pesnani met Afghanistan’s acting foreign minister Akber Muttaki in Kabul, according to a spokesman of the ministry.
Taliban ask AKDN to continue work in Afghanistan. In a tweet, the spokesman Abdul Qahar Balkhi said: “IEA acting FM Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaki met with special rep of @akdn Akbar Ali Pesnani and accompanying delegation.”
Mr Muttaki and Mr Pesnani emphasized continuation of assistance and social services provided by the foundation so that it may reach the Afghan people.
“Mr. Pesnani pledged to continue services and noted that they had not experienced such peace and security in Afghanistan over the last 18 years,” said the spokesman.
It is for the first time after the taking over of whole Afghanistan, including the northeastern parts, that such a high level contact has been made between the militant group and the AKDN. Taliban ask AKDN to continue work.
