CHITRAL: Deputy Commissioner Lower Chitral Hassan Abid on Thursday hailed the services of Ismaili Civic for the protection of environment.
He was talking to a delegation from the Ismaili community which met him at his office to discuss preparations for the Global Ismaili Civic Day scheduled to be held on September 26.
Leading the delegation, Ismaili Council for Lower Chitral President Riaz Hussain informed the DC that the Ismaili community would plant one million saplings by the end of 2022 in the area under the programme, says a press release.
The DC on the ocacsion hailed the initiative of Ismaili Civic and also appreciated the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) for raising the life standards of the people of Chitral. He expressed the hope that the AKDN would continue its noble work in backward areas.
The DC also said the district dminsitration would extend full cooperation to all philanthropic perosns and organizations engaded in working for the betterment of the public life.
