Completion of tunnel, approach roads demanded
DROSH: Representatives of political parties and traders here on Tuesday demanded that the government should restart work on the incomplete approach roads to Lowari tunnel and also finish remaining work inside the tunnel, including painting and lighting, without further delay.
Construction work on the approach roads to the tunnel was stopped in March this year due to unavailability of funds.
The all-parties’ meeting was arranged by the Awami National Party Drosh chapter. The meeting was attended, among others, by Javed Akhter, Ikram Zaib and Zubair of the PPP, Ikramul Mulk of the PML-N, Amir Sharif of Jamat-e-Islami, social and political activists Akmal Bhutto, Salahuddin Toofan, Hizbulllah and Hussain Khan.
The meeting also demanded that the new building of the THQ hospital should be handed over to the health department to make it functional.
The participants also urged the government to start work on the construction of the road between Drosh and Chitral Town.
