‘I seek justice; actual killers of my son, daughter-in-law still at large’

CHITRAL: A woman on Thursday called upon the chief justice of Peshawar High Court and the inspector general of KP police to order the Dir-Kohistan police to arrest those who got her son and his pregnant wife killed through a hired assassin two years ago.

Sabira Bibi, wife of Abdul Malik, a resident of Izz village of Garam Chashma, told a press conference here that her son Waqar Ahmed had married a woman from Dir-Kohistan against the will of her parents. Waqar brought her wife to her village but later the parents of the woman managed to kill her along with her husband through a hired assassin in October 2019. The woman was pregnant when she was murdered.

Chitral police later arrested the hired assassin but the father and others who were behind the killing are yet to be taken into custody.

Ms Sabira Bibi said the Dir-Kohistan police have failed to arrest the actual killers of her son and pregnant daughter-in-law, including Tajuddin, Shah Khalid and the wife of the hired assassin even after about two years.

She said the SHO of Patrak in Dir-Kohistan was not taking any interest in arresting the killers who are roaming freely in their village. She appealed to the chief justice and the IGP to order the SHO to arrest the killers and provide justice to her.–Muhkam Uddin Ayuni
