Widow’s house damaged in rain
BOONI: The house of a widow in Istaru village of Torkhow was damaged during the recent rains.
A press release issued by the district administration of Upper Chitral on Wednesday said that on the direction of the deputy commissioner, Assistant Commissioner Mastuj Shah Adnan visited the damaged house of Sifat Bibi and provided emergency relief items such as tents, blankets, quilts and kitchen sets to the family.
The AC also directed the tehsildar concerned to assess the damage and file a report so that the widow could be provided compensation to get her house reconstructed.
Highly commendable. Hope the empathetic officer will take the noble task to its logical end by helping construct a permanent house for the widow. Meanwhile the AKAH will hopefully erect shelter if possible.
