Timber machine, house gutted in Drosh bazaar fire

DROSH: Local people have demanded an investigation into the incident of a fire that erupted in a timber machine at Tonga bazaar Drosh in the wee hours of Feb 5 (Friday).

The fire completely damaged the timber machine and partially damaged an adjacent house, locals told ChitralToday. 

The owner of the machine said after he was informed about the fire, he alerted WAPDA, TMA and Rescue 1122 and the TMA fire extinguishers reached the spot first.

The locals demanded compensation for the affected people and an inquiry into the fire incident.

They said Rescue 1122 was facing shortage of staff. It should be equipped with required equipment and staffers to meet emergency situations.–Abbas Hussain
