KURAGH: People of Upper Chitral at a meeting here on Tuesday postponed their protest against power crisis from Feb 3 to Feb 8.
The decision was taken at a meeting of Tehreek Huqooq-e-Awam in Kuragh today.
According to the resident engineer of Reshun powerhouse, Chitral is not getting electricity from Chakdara grid station and the Golen Gol powerhouse is also not producing enough electricity due to shortage of water in the winter, and hence the loadshedding.
A few days ago at a meeting also attended by MPA Hidayatur Rehman, a schedule of power supply was issued. At present Upper Chitral is getting power according to the schedule. But if the schedule was not followed, the residents of Upper Chitral will held a protest sit-in on Feb 8.
The participants of the meeting in Kuragh demanded establishment of a separate grid station in Booni without further delay.–Sher Afgan Raza
