Notables resolve enmity between two families

CHITRAL: On the intervention of local notables, two families in Singoor buried their hatchets and turned their years-long enmity into friendship.

The row between the families of child specialist Dr Gulzar Ahmed and political figure Hafiz Fazlullah started two years ago.

Some people set ablaze Dr Ahmed’s house in Singoor two years ago and also opened indiscriminate fire outside.

The Chitral police after an investigation held the sons of Fazlullah responsible for the incident and registered an FIR against them.

Since then, the issue between the two families remained unresolved even though efforts were made by local notables.

This time, however, former member district council and ex-union council nazim Ayun Abdul Majid Qureshi, Shahi Masjid khateeb Molana Khaliquz Zaman and Jamaat-e-Islami Chitral chief Molana Rehmatullah remained successful in their mission of ending the dispute.

As a result, the two families embraced each other at a function held at Shahi Masjid and vowed to live in peace and as a good neighbours in future.–Muhkam Uddin Ayuni
