All set to launch six new economic zones
PESHAWAR: The KP government has finalized preparations for commercial launching of six new economic zones, including one in Chitral.
Other economic zones will be set up in Nowshehra, Rashakai, Ghazi, Mohmand and DI Khan.
These economic zones would be launched phase-vise from November this year to February next year.
This was stated at a meeting held with Chief Minister Mahmood Khan in the chair to review the progress made so far on the establishment of economic zones in the province.
Launching of 76 acres Nowshehra economic zone extension project was expected till the end of the ongoing month. An investment of Rs1.6 billion and 12,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities were expected through this project.
The meeting was informed that 40 acres Chitral Economic Zone would also be launched in December this year whereas commercial launching of 350 acres Mohmand Economic Zone has been scheduled for January 2021.
That is good decision and thank to PTI govt for planning mega projects for Chitral. But these will take time of at least five years and then the enxt govt will launch something else.
