CHITRAL: All dialysis machines at DHQ hospital Chitral are out of order for over two years, forcing kidney patients to go to Peshawar and other cities for treatment.

Political and social activists held protest outside hospital demanding govt repair the machines without further delay.

The speakers at the protest included former minister and PPP leader Salim Khan, Muhammad Kausar Advocate of the PML-N, JUI Chitral youth wing president Wajihuddin and social activist Hussain Ahmed.

The dialysis machines at the main hospital have been out of order for over two years and could be made functional by just spending Rs0.7 million but the government is not ready to resolve problems of the kidney patients who are forced to run from pillar to post to get timely treatment in different cities.

They said the PTI government could not fulfil even one of many promises and gas now totally lost public confidence.
They said all government departments were facing uncertainty and unable to resolve public issues such as rising inflation and unemployment and as a result poor people were forced to commit suicide.

The also said that Imran Khan always declared his opponents as corrupt but now he is unable to take action against mafias and is himself stuck in a corruption quagmire.

Before the protest outside the hospital, the protesters held a rally in the local bazaar and chanted slogans against the prime minister, KP chief minister, health minister and the hospital administration.
