Two men committed suicide in Upper Chitral

CHITRAL: Two men committed suicide in separate villages of Upper Chitral, police said.

In the first incident, Nadir Ali, 24, son of Sahib Ali, shot himself dead by a 12-bore gun in his house at Chuinj village near Mastuj.

The second incident occurred in Ujnu village of Torkhow where Shirin Hayat, 64, son of Shokor Hayat, committed suicide by jumping into the river.

The body was later recovered from the river. Police conducted postmortems on both the bodies and handed them over to the relatives of the deceased.

Two men committed suicide due to unknown reasons.

The suicide incidents among young people, especially women, have been on the rise in the recent past in Chitral.
