CHITRAL: The district administrations of Lower and Upper Chitral have no equipment or coronavirus safety kits to protect medical and paramedical staff in the poorly-equipped hospitals and the public at large.
And the government failed to provide facilities in the hospitals even after the outbreak of the coronavirus.
As a result, philanthropists and volunteers have managed some necessary protective gears.
Mr Zeeshan, a businessman from Batkhela, handed over to Tehsil Municipal Administration Chitral one thousand masks, several plastic face masks, gloves, a complete dress kit and protective caps and other kits equipment.
In this regard, a function was held at the office of Assistant Commissioner Chitral Abdul Wali Khan at which the relief items were handed over to Tehsil Municipal Officer Chitral Misbah Uddin.
Speaking on the occasion, the AC Chitral Abdul Wali Khan thanked Mr. Zeeshan and others who have helped the district administration and government agencies in this hour of need by donating protective safety kits for the public.
He said the government does not have sufficient resources to provide these coronavirus safety kits to all people free of cost but the efforts of philanthropists are commendable.
The tehsil municipal officer distributed the safety equipment free of cost to the vendors of Sabzi Mandi Chitral and the vegetable and fruit sellers in Ataliq Bazaar.
Later, the same philanthropist also distributed relief items consisting of ghee, rice, and flour among 37 families in Chitral.–Gul Hamaad Farooqi
