Chitrali man tests positive for coronavirus in Nowshera
NOWSHERA: A Chitrali man tests positive for coronavirus in Nowshera. He has been identified as Sultan Murad, 68. He is being treated at a local hospital, according to Samaa TV reporter Fayaz Ahmed.
The patient has been identified as Sultan Murad, a member of Tablighi jamaat from Koghuzi.
According to hospital sources, Murad had come to the Tablighi centre at Takhtbai on Jan 28 from where he went to Raiwind in Punjab and came back to Nowshera where his daughter is married, and fell sick.
When his condition deteriorated, he was taken to a hospital where he tested positive for COVID-19.
ChitralToday could not confirm if the patient had returned to Chitral or not after leaving his home in January. Al members of his daughter’s family have been quarantined in Nowshera.
So far, Chitral is free of COVID-19 but another Chitrali man tests positive for coronavirus in Karachi and died of the virus there and three members of his family are said to have contracted the virus too.
Moreover, a nurse from Upper Chitral contracted the virus while performing duty at a private hospital in Peshawar. She was not provided medical care by her hospital after which she was admitted to another hospital where she was recuperating.
