Al-Waiz Sadruddin passes away

CHITRAL: Al-Waiz Syed Sadruddin Shah of Patrangaz village in Yarkhun passed away in Karachi at the age of 53 on Wednesday.

He had gone to Karachi for a medical check-up after suffering a mild heart attack in Booni a few days ago.

After undergoing an angiography at the Aga Khan University Hospital (AKUH), he suffered a massive cardiac attack and passed away, his friends told ChitralToday.

He is survived by his wife, two sons and a daughter.

Mr Shah worked with the Ismaili Tariqa and Religious Education Board (ITREB) as a senior Waiz since 1980s. He held an MPhil degree from International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI).

His body was flown to Islamabad from Karachi early on Thursday morning and sent to Chitral by road for burial at his ancestral village.
