CHITRAL: Repeated flash floods have wrecked havoc with private properties in villages across Chitral this year but most of them have gone unnoticed. In major areas, roads passing through the affected villages are also blocked and there is no one to remove the mud and debris.
Kalash valleys, Yarkhun, Laspur, Mastuj and Reshun have been hit by floods recently. On the directions of Deputy Commissioner Lower Chitral Naveed Ahmed, Assistant Commissioner Shah Adnan visited Orgoch which was inundated on Sunday.
The AC assessed the damages and prepared a report. A brief assessment and rehabilitation work was underway in the village, said the DC office on Monday.
