CHITRAL: For the first time in the history of Chitral, two civil society organizations and traders’ union arranged free Iftar Dastarkhwan in the lawns of Shahi Masjid on Thursday.
About 100 people broke their fast at the Dastarkhwan and the arrangement will continue till the end of Ramazan.
Deserving people as well as patients of the District Headquarters Hospital and their attendants could break fast at the Dastarkhwan.
Speaking on the occasion, District Social Welfare Officer Khizer Hayat Khan, Colour Chitral’s chief executive Mehtab Zyab, traders’ union president Shabbir Ahmed and Khatteb of the mosque Molana Khaliquz Zamman said the Dastarkhwan would be extended gradually so that a maximum number of faithful could be facilitated during the holy month.
