Wazirzada notified as chairman DDAC Chitral
PESHAWAR: The KP government has announced to make minority member of the provincial assembly Wazirzada as the chairman of the District Development Advisory Committee (DDAC) of Chitral.
According to a notification issued by the local government, elections and rural development department, the PTI government also named the chairmen of DDAC for Peshawar, Swabi and Karak.
Funds allocated for development activities in any district are utilized after approval by the DDAC concerned. During the previous tenure of the PTI in KP, PPP member of the assembly Salim khan was the chairman of the DDAC in Chitral.
It may be noted that both the elected members of the national and provincial assemblies from Chitral belonging to religious parties have been at odds with the Kalash minority MPA accusing him of not taking them on board in decisions about hiring and transfer of government officials and other matters in Chitral.
Recently, they directly threatened the Kalash community and said if the MPA continued interfering in the affairs of the district, the local people would rise against the small community.
The row related to the appointment of Class-IV officials in government schools in Chitral with the MMA lawmakers accusing the PTI member of filling the posts with his party supporters.
However, at a press conference later, PTI Chitral president Abdul Latif said after filling the posts on different quotas, there were only 18 posts out of which 13 were filled on recommendation of the MMA MPA Hidayatur Rehman and only five by the PTI lawmaker.
He also asked the MMA members to apologize for hurling threats on the peaceful Kalash community otherwise he would initiate legal action against them.
