BOONI: The Qaqlasht festival committee at a meeting here on Monday could not finalize a date for the festival but agreed that it would be held between April 11 and 14.
On March 3, the committee had announced to hold the annual event in the first week of April.
The committee at another meeting today decided the final date for the start of the event would be fixed in consultation with the assistant commissioner of Mastuj at Booni.
The participants stated that the cultural festival would be organized by the committee and the local administration would be taken on board.
It expressed its reservations that for the last about three years the local administration while managing the event kept away the traditional game of polo from the festival.
They said if the administration tried to call the shots by organizing the event this year, no polo player would take part in it as they have been meted out step-motherly treatment.
The meeting chaired by Prince Sultan Ul Mulk was attended by elected local government representatives, members of the organizing committee and polo players.
