Volunteers again start repairing road from Broghil
YARKHUN: Before the visit of His Highness Prince Karim Aga Khan to Chitral to give Didar to his followers in Dec 2017, the local volunteers belonging to both the Ismaili and Sunni communities repaired the dilapidated roads from far-off villages to the Didargahs in Garam Chashma and Booni.
This not only facilitated thousands of people in reaching the venues of congregations and back home but also won accolades from commuters for many months to come. The government had never repaired the roads, especially the one from Broghil to Booni, for years.
In commemoration of the Didar of Dec 2017, the people of Yarkhun have now started repairing the road again from Broghil. So far, the road has been repaired from Broghil down to Bang village.
Talking to ChitralToday, the volunteers said they wanted to send out a message to the people of other areas in the country that through volunteerism lots of public welfare work could be done without waiting for the government.
The volunteers said they would continue the public welfare work and expressed the hope that others would join hands with them in this noble cause.–Shahabuddin (Birzoz).
