CHITRAL: A man, father of four children, committed suicide by self-immolation after sprinkling kerosene on his body in Bakrabad near Chitral on Monday, local police said.
The wife of the deceased, identified as Asmatullah, in her statement to the police said her husband was mentally disturbed. She said that after breakfast on Monday, her husband went into his room and she got busy in her daily chores.
After some time when she tried to enter the room it was bolted from inside. The woman said she broke the door open and saw her husband burning in a fire.
Upon her screaming, people from the neighbourhood rushed to the spot but Asmatullah had died by then.
The police said the deceased was father of four children – two sons and two daughters. –S. Nazir Hussain
