Quaid’s struggle for independence highlighted

CHITRAL: The 71st Independence Day was celebrated with great zeal and zest in the main hall of the Government Degree College Chitral.

The programme was presided over by college Principal Prof. Hidayatul Islam while District Khateeb Moulana Fazal Moula was the chief guest.

Both the students and faculty members participated in the programme in a large number. The students presented speeches, national songs and tableaus and enthralled the audience.
Quaid's struggle for independence highlightedIn his speech, the principal lauded the students who performed excellently in the intermediate examinations and emphasized the need for hard work and academic excellence. Later, he also presented awards to the top scorers.

Assistant Professor of Urdu Department Ziaul Haq highlighted the struggle made by the great Quaid-i- Azam towards the achievement of the separate homeland for the Muslims. He impressed upon the students to follow in the footsteps of the great leader, and also quoted from the verses of the poet of the east Dr Allama Iqbal to kindle their feelings of patriotism.

In the end, the chief guest pinpointed certain inspirational instances from the life of the Quaid-i- Azam who had never compromised on his principles. He further added that the founding father of the nation considered nepotism, jobbery and corruption to be the root of evils and always adopted and preached a life of simplicity and austerity and fair play.

The event was concluded with the prayers for the progress and prosperity of the country.

  1. Khalid saab, a short, terse, comprehensive and to the point report. I would suggest the editing team of the newspaper to review the clerical errors during their editing process.
