CHITRAL: People from different walks of life on Sunday got to gather at Muhafiz Baitul Atfaal (orphanage protection centre) to spend some time with children living there and discuss future plans for their education etc.
Speaking on the occasion, patrons of the centre, including Qazi Ikram, Karam Ilahi, Shahzada Mudasarul Mulk and Imadudddin, said the centre was proving lodging, education and all other necessary facilities to the kids. Its basic aim is to equip each and every orphan and needy child of Chitral with best possible and quality education in order to protect their future.
They said a philanthropist had donated a piece of land in Denin for the construction of a hostel for the orphanage where a portion would also be set up for women who for different reasons leave their homes and never return and some time end up their life by committing suicide. However, work on the hostel could not be started due to shortage of resources.
