Chitral Scouts outclass police to win Mulki Cup trophy

CHITRAL: Chitral Scouts won the Mulki Cup Polo Tournament after beating police by nine to zero goals on Wednesday.

The annual Mulki Cup Polo Tournament was revived after 59 years by the district administration this year.

Though the tournament featuring Chitral’s other traditional games and sports concluded on Sunday the polo match was delayed due to the wet ground after rain.

About 52 polo teams from across the Chitral valley took part in the Mulki Cup Polo Tournament spanning over 10 days.

A large number of tourists, including those from different parts of Pakistan as well as abroad, who were in Chitral to participate in the Chilim Jusht spring festival of Kalash people, witnessed the final of the polo tournament at the polo ground.

At the end, Shahzad Ahmed Shahji was declared as the man of tournament while Ashfaq Ahmed of the police was awarded after his horse was adjudged the best.
