They Mastuj police arrested the suspect after the expiry of his bail before arrest (BBA) obtained from a court in Chitral a few days ago. The sources also told ChitralToday that about 50 police officials on Monday brought the suspect to the house of the deceased in the Guch locality of Brep amid tight security.
The police cordoned off the entire locality before opening the room where the deceased was found dead on April 14 this year. No one, including the inmates of the house, was allowed to remain inside the house. The elderly grandfather of the deceased was allowed to sit in another room where a lady police official remained on guard.
The house was cordoned off from around 120 yards. Then the room where the body of the victim had been found was opened by the police officials. The suspect was brought inside the room and then his face was unmasked. The police on the occasion brought two notables of Brep village and in front of these two men and the police officials the suspect confessed to killing the youth in the same room. He said before arriving in the house he had sent some tranquilizer to the wife of the deceased to feed him.
He said when he arrived in the house late on April 14 after parking his bike a few yards away the deceased had been given the tranquilizer by his wife. The suspect said he and the woman (wife of the deceased) then strangled him to death. After committing the crime, he added, he left the village on his bike. On repeated questions by the police, the suspect said he and the woman had carried out the murder without the involvement of any other accomplices.
The statement of the suspect was recorded by the police. After recording his statement and getting the signatures of the two local witnesses, the police took the suspect away, the sources told ChitralToday. The two witnesses were directed to appear before a court in Booni on Tuesday (today).
A source in Booni told Chitral Today that the suspect confessed not guilty of the murder in front of the judge. He was later sent to jail on judicial remand. The police registered the murder case against the woman and the constable six months after the youth was found dead in his house on April 14 this year.

Aslam Baig, 24, son of Purdoom of Brep, was found dead on the night of April 14 this year and his wife told his elderly grandfather that he had suffered a heart attack.
The deceased was buried without conducting an autopsy as his father believed it could be a natural death despite credible accounts of some witnesses who had seen marks of wounds on the body with blood oozing from his nostrils. The father was in Islamabad for work when his son was found dead back home. According to the witnesses, Syed Shahab, son of Syed Islam Shah of Zupu village used to visit the house of Aslam Baig. The wife of the deceased also belonged to the Zupu village.
The relatives of the deceased approached the police to register a case against Shahab and the widow of Aslam Baig after they contracted court marriage on Oct 10. The police after a delay of a few days registered a murder case against the two suspects. The woman was arrested on Oct 22 from Ragh village where she along with the first wife of the man was living in a rented house.
