In July 2015, Anjuman Nawjawanan-e-Chitral (the association of the youth of Chitral) held a protest dharna (sit-in) against the delay in the construction of the bypass road, prolonged power cuts and alleged corruption of the then DC Chitral, Mr Aminul Haq. After the two-day sit-in at the Chitral bazaar bridge, the Chitral police registered an FIR against the participants of the protest. Those who were nominated in the FIR included Raziuddin,Karam Elahi, Nazir Ahmed, Sultan Ahmed Sher, Israr Uddin, Maqsoodur Rehman, Bashir Ahmed, Zafar, Khalil and Qadir. The case against the youth right activists continued in the court of the civil judge Chitral and today when the hearing started, the counsel for the youth, Niaz A. Niazi Advocate and Muhammad Ishaq Advocate completed their arguments and requested the court to grant bail to their clients. After listening to the arguments of the lawyers, the court acquitted all of them from the charges.]]>
