Speaking at a press conference at his office along with members of the district council Rehmat Wali, Ghulam Mustafa, village nazim Sajad Ahmed Khan and tehsil council member Jamal Uddin, he said on the demand of the people of Chitral the district council a few weeks ago had passed a resolution demanding more police stations and checkposts in Chitral. He said speaking at a farewell reception in Swat recently, former IGP Nasir Khan Durrani had promised to fulfil the demand. By approving the establishment of the new police circles of Bumburate, Lotkoh and Mulkhow, six police stations of Ashiret, Rumbur, Arkari, Oveer, Harchin and Yarkhun Lasht along with three checkposts, the former IGP won the hearts of the people of Chitral, he claimed. The nazim promised to provide financial assistance in the acquisition of facilities and infrastructure in the new police stations. He said because of its territorial vastness, the residents of Chitral were facing hardship in accessing the police. Similarly, the police were also facing troubles in approaching the citizens. He gave the example of Yarkhun Lasht from where the residents had to travel for over 100 kilometers to reach the police station in Mastuj. The nazim said he would be trying to get approval for the enhancement of the police force in Chitral up to 3,000 personnel. This, he added, would provide an opportunity to the youth of Chitral to get employment in the police.–Bashir Hussain Azad]]>
